Mainland Minerals Winter Newsletter 2017

10th July 2017
Hi All,

Yep it’s that time of the year again, WINTER! And time for an update from Mainland Minerals as it has been a few months since our last newsletter, and with the talk about lambing, fawning & calving we thought now would be a great time to touch base and offer a few tips on the coming season, so you are prepared and have a plan in place to hit the ground running in Spring.

Our Production team have been busy in the factory with all our equipment and machinery having its annual overhaul, making sure it's ready for a busy season ahead. While we are flat-out with our shutdown, now is a good time for you to get in touch with your local Mainland representative to start working on your fertiliser plan for the new season or year ahead.
Our Mainland team have the knowledge & experience to help you come up with the best fertiliser options for your farm & budget. And as your regional councils roll out their nutrient budgeting requirements we will also endeavour to work alongside you to provide the necessary information.

SPRING PLANNING
With ewes in lamb & cows in calf, now is a great time to supplement with some multi-mineral loose lick. It’ll help keep stock in good condition at this vulnerable time. Remember a loose lick is easier for the stock to consume and get enough nutrient from, compared to a compacted salt block.
A maintenance application of fine particle fertiliser before lambing/calving or just after is ideal… because we always include elements like magnesium, zinc, copper, cobalt, selenium; your stock are going to get maximum benefit and a real boost. Our long term clients using this regime find they typically get heavier weaning weights.

Have you heard about our NEW Fodderbeet Multi-Mineral Salt Lick?
Milk fever around calving can result from low Phosphate in cow’s diets when on Fodderbeet.
We have formulated a special nutritional mineralized loose salt lick with extra Phosphate & other key minerals to aid your cows on Fodderbeet diets this winter.
To be used as a nutritional supplement aid for dairy cows & other cattle on partial Fodderbeet diets.
Loose Salt Licks in our view are the best form of on demand trace mineral supplements for stock. Being in a loose mineral granular form stock can access as much or as little as they need.
Price for the Fodderbeet Salt Lick is $30/per 25kg bag or $1150/per tonne.

WINNER
A big congratulations to our client Scott Kennan on winning the Clydevale Brassica Competition. He won it with his 36 tonne crop of Fodderbeet.

Well that’s all from us as we wrap up yet another winter newsletter, with the shortest day behind us it’s all upwards from here! Keep warm everyone & we look forward to working with you in the coming season.

The Mainland Team.
