Swede Advisory: Cows at increased risk of ill-health from swedes

When temperatures begin to warm, swedes will begin to grow again and a higher risk when feeding swedes. New leaves, elongated stems, and flowering heads forming are expected to cause much higher levels of glucosinolates (GSL). GSLs are thought to have caused cow ill-health and deaths in 2014. Extra caution is required as cows are under challenge with calving approaching.
